This past weekend, I attended Lee Lofland’s Writers’ Police Academy in Greensboro, NC. I went last year as well — but this year was even better! I had such a good time and learned so much. Some of my favorite classes were Digital Evidence, Fingerprinting, Crime Scene Evidence Collection and Photography (even though we endure this outside class in the pouring rain), Gunshot Trauma, and Women’s Safety and Self Defense. I could go on and on… because really, I didn’t attend a bad class.
I tip my hat to Lee, the staff of the Highpoint Public Library, Guilford Technical Community College, the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office, and the Embassy Suites Hotel. What a fabulous upgrade from last year! Not only was my suite comfortable, but they had excellent food. I know I’ve missed a lot of people, so please forgive me.
I recommend this conference to anyone writing crime fiction. Can’t wait for next year!
